CIM HK Announces New Regional Board for 2010-12

The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Hong Kong (CIM HK) has announced new line up of members for its Regional Board, which is the body responsible for driving CIM HK's strategic development and management.

The change in leadership was announced at CIM HK's 13th Annual General Meeting (AGM), which was held on Jan 28, 2010 (Thu). From among the nine members of the Regional Board, Mr. Wilson Shao was elected to serve as Chairman of CIM HK.

With over 25 years of sales and marketing experience in transport and tourism industries, Wilson is currently Head of Commercial and Business Development for Ngong Ping 360. He has served on the CIM HK Regional Board since January 2007, and was promoted as Senior Vice Chairman in October last year. Wilson is a Fellow of The Institute and a Chartered Marketer.

Wilson is joined by the following seasoned marketers and strategists in the Regional Board:

  1. Mr. Adrian Chan
  2. Ms. Lilian Chan
  3. Mr. Samuel Cheng
  4. Ms. Mary Choy
  5. Ms. Twisbee Lam
  6. Mr. Max Lau
  7. Mr. Andy Tang
  8. Mr. Wilson Wong

"I look forward to working with other members of the Regional Board to further grow the CIM HK, as our Institute march towards our centennial celebrations next year," said Mr. Shao.

"I wish to take this opportunity to also thank a number of long-standing board members, who had stepped down this year. Their efforts during the past years have been the foundation of CIM HK's success today. I sincerely hope to be able to have their experience and guidance in the future," Mr. Shao continued.

CIM HK Regional Board has also invited the following former office bearers to serve as Vice Presidents of the Region:

  1. Mr. S.K Cheong (Immediate Past Chairman)
    General Manager - Broadcasting, Television Broadcasts Ltd.
  2. Dr. Stephen Ho (Immediate Past Vice Chairman)
    President, Ferguson International Freight Forwarders Ltd.

Established in 1996, CIM HK aims to promote professional standards among the marketing community in Hong Kong. It has since been actively organising conferences, workshops and seminars for members and marketers to stay abreast of latest industry trends. These events also provide Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities for members, who must satisfy stringent requirements annually to pursue and retain the prestigious Chartered Marketer status. Looking forward, CIM HK will continue to help marketers to update their skills sets, and to consolidate its representation in the Hong Kong marketing profession.
