A survey conducted in February 2008 shows that 63% of respondents in Hong Kong enjoy 10Mps (megabyte per second) Internet connections either at home or at work, and that 29% users access email via their mobile handsets. It is estimated that there are over 1.8 million broadband Internet connections in the city.

As web access at home, at work and on-the-go becomes more common, there is room for an array of electronic and online marketing activities. Online marketing spend has seen steady growth in recent years. Yet, critics of online marketing have remained skeptical, saying that response is difficult to gauge and that return on investment (ROI) is immeasurable.

At the November 2008 seminar, Ms. Maggie Yung will share a comprehensive overview of the online market and an analysis of various e-marketing channels. The key topics of discussion include:

  • Online Market Overview: market spend, the trend, the top spenders
  • Search Engine Marketing & Search Engine Optimization
  • Paid Search, such as key word search
  • Display Advertising and Landing Page
  • Tracking Tools, such as double click, HBX etc.
  • Performance Metrics and Funnel Management
  • Market Trend
