Our monthly seminar on "Retail Planning and Shopping Centre Design" was held on June 26, 2007 (Tuesday). The speaker was Keith Griffiths, Chairman of Aedas Ltd., which is the fourth largest architectural practice in the world with 1,900 staff in 26 offices in Europe, Asia and the Americas. Keith pointed out that the developers, architects and marketers ought to work closely to make retail planning and shopping centre design effective and successful.

Main criteria for successful retail planning and shopping centre design:

• Easy to assess
• Clear image
• Consistent theme and graphic
• Brand identity
• Good visibility

There was a lot of interaction going on between the participants and the speaker, as evidenced by many questions asked during the Q&A session.
