Overview - About Organisers

The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) is the only institute with authority to grant Chartered Marketer status to its members, and the leading international professional marketing body with over 50,000 members worldwide.

Founded in 1911 in UK, CIM was awarded the Royal Charter from the Privy Council in 1989. In 1998, The Institute began to award Chartered Marketer status in recognition of individual professionalism and on-going learning and development in marketing. CIM also upholds marketing professionalism through its heavy involvement in MSSSB (Marketing and Sales Standards Setting Body), which is established by the UK Government to develop world-class benchmarks of best practice in various aspects of marketing.

In 1996, The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Hong Kong (CIM HK) was established. In addition to providing a local contact point for members, it also supports the needs of the local marketing community through major conferences, training programmes, workshops, seminars, qualifications, networking opportunities and other resources.

With Mr. Linus Cheung as President, Professor Enoch Young as Vice President and Mr. S. K. Cheong as Chairman, over 400 members in Hong Kong currently hold Chartered Marketers status.
